台風9号は、Typhoon Mindulleという名称ですね。

Typhoon Mindulle could make landfall near Tokyo at around noon on Monday.

Japan Meteorological Agency officials say that as of 10 AM, Mindulle was near Niijima Island. They expect the typhoon to move north at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, and to continue traveling north after making landfall.

Mindulle is packing winds of about 125 kilometers per hour near its center.

Izu city, Shizuoka Prefecture, also recorded 103 millimeters of rainfall for the one hour through 8:40 AM.

Mindulle could bring more than 50 millimeters per hour of rain to the greater Tokyo area, the Tokai region, and northern Japan. Some locations could receive over 80 millimeters per hour of rain.

Agency officials are calling on people to stay on the alert for mudslides, floods, violent winds, high waves and lightning strikes.
