1. Simple Simon met a pieman,

Going to the fair,

Says Simple Simon to the pieman,

Let me taste your ware.

1. とんまなサイモンがお祭りにいき、パイ売りにあった

とんまなサイモンはパイ売りに言った

「パイの味見をさせて」

2．The pieman says to Simple Simon,

Show me first your penny;

Says Simple Simon to the pieman,

Indeed I have not any.

La la la………

2．パイ売りはとんまなサイモンに言った

「お金はもっているのかい？」

とんまなサイモンは言った

「本当は一銭（1ペニー）も持っていないんだ」

3．Simple Simon went a-fishing,

For to catch a whale;

All the water he had got

Was in his mother’s pail

La la la …

3．とんまなサイモンは釣りに行った

くじらを釣るために

でもサイモンが釣りをしたのは

おかあさんのバケツの中だった

4．Simple Simon went to look

If plums grew on a thistle;

He pricked his finger very much,

Which made poor Simon whistle.

4．とんまなサイモンがアザミにプラムがなっているか見に行った

すると指にとげが刺さって

かわいそうなサイモンはくちぶえをふいた
