Sony’s flagship home video game console, the PlayStation, marked its 25th anniversary on Tuesday.
They added that the Guinness World Records recognized the series as the best-selling home video game console of all time.
注目すべきは、「ソニーの主力製品であるプレイステーション」を英語で
“Sony’s flagship home video game console, PlayStation”
と表現しています。
Flagship フラッグシップは(同じ種類中でも)最高のもの、最も重要なもの
の意味があります。
主力製品= main product
とも言えますが、
”flagship “を使うと、main product のなかでも突出して最高の製品である
ことを表すことができます。
The PlayStation is Sony’s flagship product.
プレイステーションはソニーの主力製品です(看板商品です)
と使えます。
