In urban areas, should the government encourage vacant land to be used for farming?

I don’t think the government should encourage vacant land to be used for farming in urban areas.

I have two reasons for this.

First, it is difficult to grow enough vegetables in cities because urban areas have a dense population and there is little space for farming. In such small areas, only a limited amount of vegetables can be produced, which is not enough to support many people.

Second, vegetables grown in cities may be affected by pollution. Urban areas have a lot of cars and factories, which make the air and soil dirty. Because of this pollution, vegetables may not be clean or healthy. Most people want to eat food that is safe and nutritious, so they may not want to buy vegetables grown in such places. For these reasons, I believe the government should not encourage farming on vacant land in urban areas.
