さて、「〇〇ぶり」の便利な日本語、英語ではどう表現しましょう？
オリンピック記事から、素敵な英語表現を集めてみました。

In the men’s long jump final on the Tokyo Olympics, Yuki Hashioka jumped 8 meters and 10 centimeters in the final 6th time and finished 6th.

今回、日本と英字新聞の紙面を読み比べましたが、英字ではあまり「〇〇年ぶり」の表現を見かけませんでした。
逆に、日本の紙面では、常に「〇〇年ぶり！」のタイトルが多いこと。
例えば、男子体操橋本選手の「13年ぶり鉄棒で金メダル」
英字新聞では、見当たらなかったです。
その代わりに、コンパクトにまとめた記事をご紹介。
