台風がrip through とは？-台風14号
「これまでに経験のない規模の台風」とのことで、
その勢力を注視されていることでしょう。
今回はNHKで「rip through」という表現をよく見ました。
辞書によると
ripは引き裂く、
throughは～を通して、～に渡り
rip through は、引き裂く、～の内部を吹き飛ばす、ビリビリ破りながら開けていく、猛威を振るう
などと訳すことができます。
英語の辞書を引くと、イメージが湧きます。
